Job Summary:

Serves on the staff in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) within the Office of the Secretary. You will report to an assigned supervisor and has overall responsibilities in multiple areas of the CIO Office. Functions include developing, proposing and promulgating guidelines, methods, procedures, plans of action, and decisions for areas relating to the web and new media activities. As a team member, you are responsible for areas such as: acquisition management (new media contracts, deliverables, and budget); information technology (IT) management policy relating to web and new media; regulatory and legislative issues relating to web and new media; IT strategic planning; program assessment and oversight; web and new media architecture; standards; strategic communications; technology assessment; performance measurement; and liaison functions with the Office of Public Affairs and other DOT officials. You will also work closely with Operating Administrations (OAS) and OST staff to monitor accountability and responsibility in all areas of web and new media. Candidates must be able to work well independently and within groups and have willingness and flexibility to tackle a wide range of operational challenges pertaining developing, proposing and promulgating guidelines, methods, procedures, plans of action, and decisions for areas relating to the web and new media activities. This position is located in the New DOT building, which sits directly across the street from the metro and blocks away from the new National's Baseball stadium.
