You serve as an Architect within the Office of Construction and Facilities Management (CFM) Office of Facilities Planning, Cost Estimating Service, Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This office has responsibility for overseeing the programs for construction cost budgeting, estimating, value engineering, and project cost management. Estimators interact closely with various parties to provide costing input on various project needs and cost alternatives needed for major construction funding. At the GS-14 level, you serve as the lead representative for Cost Estimating Service in one or more special focus areas, such as market research, grant applications, commercial leases, cost benchmarking, cost risk assessment, or similar areas.
